What's your theological worldview?
Here's a quiz I created for a bit of fun/thought. Take the quiz here and let me know what answer you came up with! (Apologies to the Orthodox Church, who I missed out.)
|
You scored as Neo orthodox.
You are neo-orthodox. You reject the human-centredness and scepticism of liberal theology, but neither do you go to the other extreme and make the Bible the central issue for faith. You believe that Christ is God's most important revelation to humanity, and the Trinity is hugely important in your theology. The Bible is also important because it points us to the revelation of Christ. You are influenced by Karl Barth and P T Forsyth.

Enjoy, and let me know how you get on!
here’s my results. Actually, I’m surprised (though knowing my interest in emergent stuff others might not be).
One question – who is Bishop Spong? (please excuse my ignorance)
You scored as Emergent/Postmodern. You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don’t think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.Emergent/Postmodern86%Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan75%Neo orthodox68%Charismatic/Pentecostal57%Classical Liberal57%Roman Catholic43%Reformed Evangelical39%Modern Liberal39%Fundamentalist11%What's your theological worldview?created with QuizFarm.com

Bishop Spong = super-liberal who has sought to make Christianity ‘relevant’ by denying almost everything about it.

LOL – it scored me as Roman Catholic 75% (even though I said the Pope wasn’t the head of the church), Evangelical 71%
But, then, I always say that my favourite Christian “label” is “catholic evangelical” so it’s not really that far off!

Emergent/Postmodern first, Neo-orthodox second and Wesleyan third, which I can live with – showing my Methodist roots a little bit :)

Well I’m not entirely sure where the Wesleyan bit came from, but apart from that the ranking system worked quite well.
You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan.
You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God’s grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

I got equal score for emergent/postmodern and Wesleyan.
I’d be intrigued to know the difference between ‘Classical Liberal’ (which I scored quite high on) and ‘Modern Liberal’ (which I didn’t).

My top one was Evangelical/Holiness.

Evangelical holiness/Wesleyan first, followed by neo-orthodox, then emergent. I can go along with that I guess.

I would have guessed your scores would have been something like that CWV :) Though you scored higher than I thought on classical liberalism.

Steven: I was skeptical about your quiz, but I took it, and it was remarkably accurate in describing me. I have discussed my results on my blog, Terra Extraneus (see the article: “Evangelical Holiness, Anyone?” at http://terraextraneus.com/index.php/arch..)—and I have encouraged my readers to take your test and report their results. Thanks for a good discussion starter.

I was mostly Neo-Orthodox and Roman Catholic—Though I think I detected a slight neo-orthodox bias in the quiz.
I scored pretty high in Wesleyan/Evangelical Holiness, too, which surprised me a little bit.
